TFL Update: Kid Kustoms, Dad Summit, Free Dave & Busters, and more!

tfl-update

Where to begin?  So much cool stuff going on this week.  First up, an announcement: We’re very glad to welcome Dave Baldwin to our editorial staff.  Dave is a tremendous dad, and not bad as a guy, either.  If you see his byline pop up soon on an article, be sure to give him a warm welcome!

The guys over at Kid Kustoms have been in the news – their local ABC affiliate did a story on their hot rod strollers and trikes.  Someone at CNN saw the piece and took it national!  Congrats, guys!  And we’ll take ours in Candy Apple Red with white pins, please. UPDATED!!!! See below!

Our old friend Cory Huff (formerly of AGoodHusband.net) surfaced recently over at sparkplugging.com.  We’re not sure what else he’s been up to, but he did find time to put together a list of 24 Great Sites for Fathers.  Yes, we know THE FATHER LIFE is the only site you really need, but these others aren’t half bad!

dad-summitWe’re also excited about the upcoming Dad Summit. It’s taking place the week of Father’s Day, in just over 2 weeks from now. There will be 10 really good sessions with some outstanding speakers on some really core topics for men – issues of the heart: a man’s identity, father power, practical marriage tips for dads, raising values in our children, money matters, etc.  We’re even more excited that we can save you $5 off the registration.  Just mention the promo code “tfl5” when you register at DadSummit.com.

RJ at SingleDad.com has put together a great promotion with good-time fun establishment Dave & Busters.  You can get $10 of free tokens to what RJ calls “The Most Dad Friendly Place on Earth,” plus ongoing discounts.  Check it out here:

Finally, the Fresh Air Fund, a tremendous organization that does a great deal of good, has been given the opportunity to have every gift in June matched, dollar for dollar.  Surf on over to their website if you can help them out this month.  They’re still looking for host families for the summer, too.  It’s a great way to help out a kid who needs it and give your own kids an experience they won’t forget.  All the info is at http://www.freshair.org.

UPDATE!!!! After seeing the post earlier today, Joe Iacono of Kid Kustoms sent along this pic of just what we’re looking for. Sweet!
