It sure seems like the outdoor dads that I know have a lot of fun.
Playing indoors with your kids may sometimes look like tea parties or pretending to be a conductor. How much fake tea can you drink? How many choo choo sounds can you do?
Even if you are not a natural outdoor adventure sport guy chances are you can just go into nature and start exploring. In our family, my husband takes the girls out to shovel or clear off the car for some fun times. I know it sounds boring but it often turns into fort building, snow throwing, etc.
Or look at this video of a dad going sledding:

Dads have fun in all kinds of ways outdoors; some go fishing others go on bike rides, while others scale mountains. How will you spend your time with your kids?
If you are not sure how to go about playing outdoor syou can check out the new social network site OutdoorBabyNetwork. There is a Dad group waiting to help you out.
– The Neighbor’s Wife
Heidi Ahrens is not the neighbor’s wife of your dreams, but with her background in education, outdoor recreation, and parenting, she may be the one to give you the figurative spanking that will make you spend more quality, healthful time with your family. Don’t worry — her advice and tips are not scientifically proven, they are based on her work on OutdoorBaby.net, her life as a stay-at-home-mom to two young girls, and as the wife of a pretty cool guy.

It needed to be said… kids WANT to be outside, boys and girls alike. My pretty, pink, girly-girls love being outside. There is more to do and less to get into trouble doing. 🙂
