TFL UPDATE: PPD, Social Media Job Hunting, Kids and Internet Porn

It may not look like it, but there’s a lot going on at THE FATHER LIFE right now.  Keep your ear to the ground; big things are coming your way!

We are honored to have been included in the Top 50 Post-Partum Support Blogs by NursePractitionerSchools.org.  As many of you know, Post-Partum Depression, or PPD, is not easy to go through for mom or dad.  We’ve been glad to provide articles on PPD in the past and will continue to do so in the future.  You can also find great support at PostPartumDadsProject.org.

GREAT STUFF ON THE WEB

With unemployment numbers remaining at relatively high levels, I know there are a lot of you out there looking for work.  I ran across some great tips on leveraging social media to help your job search at FastCompany.com.  Whether you are a job seeker right now or not, there is valuable information there to be had.  Give it a read.

I also received some disturbing news this week: two of the most-searched terms by kids who are behind Symantec’s filtering software are “sex” and “porn.”  Are they just testing the software, or are they really searching? I don’t know the answer to that question, but I remember now why I didn’t unlock any search engines in the parental controls on my daughter’s iMac.  More details at dadz.com.
