FRIDAY ROUND-UP: Single Fathers, Family Finances, Abduction + Twootball!

Welcome to our weekly round-up of great fathering content in the media… enjoy! And have a great weekend! -TFL

Are you a single custodial father? Social Work students at Eastern Washington University are seeking to learn more about single custodial fathers and the challenges they face in raising their children. If you are a single, custodial father who has sole custody of your child(ren) for an average of five days a week, you can help by taking this survey. It is completely anonymous, takes about 30 minutes, and asks about your life situation, specific needs, available resources and resource needs.

Speaking of single dads, definitely check out SingleDad.com; a tremendous site we’re just becoming familiar with! Great content and community!

Not sure what to tell the kids about your family and money (especially in light of recent economic events)? NYTime’s Lisa Belkin takes on that topic in Family Finances (Or What To Tell The Kids).

We were contacted this week in regard to the plight of David Goldman, whose wife took their son on vacation to her native Brazil – and never returned. David has exhausted numerous channels trying to regain custody of his son for several years now, but to no avail; a true nightmare to say the lease. David recently appeared on the Today Show and if you’d like to know more about David’s situation and how you can help, visit BringSeanHome.com.

Finally (football falls into the category of fathering, right?), are you ready for some Twootball? This is a such a cool new site that sorts out all the NFL related comments from Twitter and posts the to their site, Twootball.com – very cool! So, if you want to know what folks are saying about games this week – definitely check it out!
